³ Description

Whole wheat bread soaked in a chia/almond milk/date caramel mixture, cooked, then layered into a green apple, drenched with more date caramel, and topped with more date caramel, peanuts, and barney butter cocoa +coconut butter.

² Ingredients

  •  1 serving (serving = 1/4 cup) Kroger Unsalted Peanuts
  •  1/2 serving (serving = 2 tbsp) Barney Butter Smooth Almond Butter
  •  1 medium (2-3/4" dia) Granny Smith Apples
  •  1 serving (serving = 1 cup) Silk Pure Almond Milk - Unsweetened Original
  •  1/2 serving (serving = 2 tbsp) Navitas Naturals Raw Chia Seeds
  •  1/2 cup (8 fl oz) Water
  •  2 serving (serving = 5-6 dates) Dole California Whole Pitted Dates
  •  1 regular slice Whole Wheat Bread
   

q Directions

Makes 1 serving

- 1 slice whole wheat bread (or another bread of choice)
- 1/2 cup date caramel (dates + water in a food process until smooth and creamy)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 cup almond milk (or another milk of choice)
- handful peanuts
- 1 green apple, sliced
- 1 tbsp barney butter cocoa + coconut

Combine 2 tbsp of your date caramel with 1 cup milk and 1 tbsp chia seeds and let sit in the fridge for about 10 minutes. Soak your bread in the mixture then cook up in a skillet like you would regular french toast. Once cooked, set aside and let cool. Meanwhile, slice your apple into thick slices. Once your french toast is cool, cut into 4 equal pieces and Layer between each apple slice. Drizzle your date caramel and barney butter on top then top off with a handful of peanuts. Enjoy :)
